Nutter vetos Philadelphia’s paid sick leave bill

Mayor Michael Nutter has announced a veto of Philadelphia’s paid sick leave bill, reporter Tom MacDonald tells us.

More than a week ago, City Council passed a bill requiring businesses with five or more employees to offer paid sick time for workers, but only by a 9-8 vote, meaning the bill doesn’t have enough votes to override a veto.

Tom will have the details for us later.
