Nutter to announce volunteer campaign

Tomorrow morning, Mayor Michael Nutter will announce the city’s Volunteer Impact Challenge campaign. Through the programs, residents can match their skills to service projects tied to the city’s top 10 volunteer priorities.

Chief Service Officer Catie Woflgang, Chief Education Officer Dr. Lori Shorr and Free Library Director and President Siobhan Reardon will also be on hand, along with Dr. Judith Renyi, executive director of the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy; and Kathleen Sullivan, Comcast’s vice president of Government & Regulatory Affairs for Philadelphia and Lower Merion.

The overarching priority of the Volunteer Impact Challenge is education. Comcast has produced a 30-second PSA for the program, which will air for the next month.
