Nutter teams up with South Carolina congressman to diss Romney-Ryan education plan

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter will be speaking out against the Romney-Ryan education funding plan today alongside an unusual companion.

He and South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn will be on Independence Mall this afternoon to talk about “how the Romney-Ryan budget plan would be disastrous for teachers, students and their families—leading to increases in class size, teacher layoffs, and higher college tuition for thousands of Pennsylvania students.”

The Romney camp has already heard from city officials about this; Nutter and D.A. Seth Williams were outside a West Philadelphia charter school in May when the Republican presidential candidate visited.
