No immediate relief for parents unhappy with Camden public schools

This week’s NJ Spotlight podcast features John Mooney explaining a judge’s decision to deny a request by parents of three Camden public school students to immediately move their kids to a private or other public school outside the District.

John Mooney is the founder of NJ Spotlight on its education writer. He has covered education in New Jersey for 15 years as a reporter for The Newark Star-Ledger and The Bergen Record.

Mooney told NewsWorks that this case is far from over and that Wednesday’s ruling was specifically on whether the three students were suffering “irreparable harm” by remaining in a Camden school. The merits of the case are to be decided by Education Commissioner Chris Cerf,
