No Cup
America will not host the 2022 World Cup. It was announced this morning that Russia will host the FIFA event in 2018 and Qatar is the winner of the 2022 bid.
Had the U.S. been selected, Philadelphia was in the running as one of the host cities. Reporter Peter Crimmins will have more on the story later. He was at Center City’s Tir Na Nog with the Philadelphia Union when the announcement was made.
