No animals were inside a barn when a fire broke out at the Six Flags Great Adventure Safari property in Jackson Monday evening, a park official said.

Firefighters responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. and found heavy fire conditions inside a pole barn, according to department sources.

The blaze was extinguished shortly before 11:00 p.m.

“No animals were injured, and all are safely inside the safari,” park spokeswoman Kristin B. Siebeneicher said. “The safety of our animals and team members is our top priority.”
