N.J. gov. hopeful Buono hurt in car crash

State Sen. Barbara Buono has suffered facial cuts in an auto accident in Franklin Township.

Police say 59-year-old Buono, a Democratic candidate for governor, was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick following the accident at about 8 p.m. Monday.

Police spokesman Sgt. Philip Rizzo tells the Star Ledger of Newark that Buono was a passenger in the car, sitting in the back seat. He says the circumstances of the crash are still being investigated.
