N.J. Dems call for assemblyman to resign amid charges

The Burlington County Democratic committee is calling for a Republican lawmaker to resign his office after being charged with writing bad checks.

Republicans say the calls for Assemblyman Robert Schroeder to give up his office are a political stunt.
Schroeder runs All Points International Distributors, a company that sells tents and huts to the U.S. military.

State officials charged him this month with writing bad checks totaling nearly $400 million to two investors.

The Bergen County Democratic organization also tells The Record that the county’s Republican organization should return donations from Schroeder.
