Mother Nature will deliver a stunner for Mother’s Day.

Warm and dry conditions will replace the continuing dreary, soggy air mass, forecasters say.

The culprit for the recent weather? Onshore winds delivering cooler marine air, according to John Homenuk, lead forecaster at New York Metro Weather

    But that all changes Sunday.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny conditions and temperatures in the 70s throughout the area, with some locations approaching 80 degrees.

“But the warming trend won’t be done — if forecast models have the right idea,” Homenuk said, adding that high temperatures may potentially exceed 80 degrees on both Monday and Tuesday.

Then a cold front approaches during the middle part of next week, delivering the possibility of strong thunderstorms.

“Exact high temperatures are difficult to pin down at this point, but the general idea is that we’re looking at the warmest days of the year to date by early next week,” Homenuk said.
