Nittany Lions name six-member panel to find Paterno’s replacement

Whoever fills Joe Paterno’s shoes has a big role ahead of them, but the first responsibility belongs to the panel picking the replacement.

Penn State University has chosen six people to assist with the search for a new football coach, ESPN reports, with acting athletic director Dave Joyner leading the committee.

Trustee Ira Lubert, women’s volleyball coach Russ Rose, faculty athletics representative Linda Caldwell, emeritus communications professor John Nichols and associate athletic director Charmelle Green make up the rest of the panel.

Paterno was fired after it was revealed he notified the athletic director, but not authorities about sexual abuse allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky.
