Nike drops Paterno name from child-care center

Footwear and apparel giant Nike Inc. of Washington County, Ore., plans to remove the name of former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno from a child-care center on its campus, reports the Philadephia Business Journal.

The decision was made in the wake of a new report that criticizes how Penn State and Paterno handled allegations about child sex abuse by former assistant coach Jerry Sanduky, who was convicted of the sexual abuse of 10 young boys.
