New train service in Newark starts this weekend

Amtrak adding stops in Newark today as part of an expanded weekend service.

 

A southbound stop on the Northeast Regional line will be added in Newark every Friday at 3:05. Northbound stops will be added Satruday and Sunday at 8:43 PM. One way tickets to Washington, D.C. will cost $29 when purchased two weeks in advance. Riders using the Newark station have increased to 9,300 in 2010 compared to 7,883 in 2008.
