New storm threatens Sandy recovery in N.J.

    A nor’easter threatens recovery efforts more than a week and a half after Superstorm Sandy hammered New Jersey.

    Utility crews are working to restore service to 395,910 homes and businesses.But safety rules will prevent them from using bucket trucks if the new storm kicks winds to 40 mph.

    The Holland Tunnel has reopened to cars and trucks, helping to ease the commute in and out of New York City.

    NJ Transit continues to use emergency bus hubs to supplement limited rail service.

    Gas rationing continues in 12 counties. Wednesday is for motorists with odd number or personalized license plates.

    Federal disaster assistance is available to all New Jersey residents. All FEMA recovery centers are closed Wednesday because of the nor’easter.
