About half of the city’s multi-space parking kiosks are having problems accepting smart cards and credit cards. Linda Miller is a spokesperson for the Parking Authority. She says the agency is in the process of fixing a software glitch.

Miller: So far about half our machines have been resolved effectively as far as the upgrade and we have the other half to complete. We have four hundred machines on the street right now.

Miller says dollar bills or quarters work in all the machines – but smart cards and credit cards are not guaranteed right now. She adds tickets issued at faulty kiosks are being handled on a case by case basis.
