New Jersey dog put down after latest bite

Duke, the Rhodesian Ridgeback who’s made headlines for biting multiple people, has been put down. The news comes after the most recent bite: a friend visiting Duke’s home.

Today’s Sunbeam reports Duke has been euthanized after biting a girl late last month. In a court case last summer, Duke was ruled “potentially dangerous” after he bit an Alloway Township girl in 2009.

Duke and his owner, Dr. Robert Taffet, were profiled by Philadelphia magazine shortly before the court ruling. Taffet was ordered to keep Duke caged or muzzled to prevent another attack.
