WHYY covered the ribbon cutting for P.C.A.’s new 8,000 square foot space that replaces the group’s old site in West Philadelphia.

P.C.A. will have more than double the space, and as a result officials estimate they’ll be able to deal with an additional 20 cases a month. The office is also close to public transportation and it’s kid-friendly: with stuffed animals, a fish tank, and a miniature plastic shopping cart.

Philadelphia Children’s Alliance Executive Director Chris Kirchner said, “The dynamics of child sexual abuse are such that every little detail of the child’s experience during the investigation can impact that child’s willingess to talk about what happened.”

District Attorney Seth Williams says he hopes the new facility will help bring more criminals to justice.
