New 9/11 memorial dedicated in New Garen by Fire Company

The Avondale Fire Company celebrated a critical moment in Fire Prevention Week Saturday by dedicating a new 9/11 memorial.

The Daily Local News reports several hundred people were on hand for the dedicaiton, which took place at the firehouse. The fire company dedicated the new memorial constructed by Justin Ramberger for his Eagle Scout project.

The memorial was designed in the shape of the Pentagon, with remnants of the World Trade Center and a plaque remembering the victims of Flight 93.

The Daily Times says the ceremony was led by Fire Company President John Morris, whose bother, Seth, died in the attack. A flag was presented to him by Ramberger that flew over the U.S. Capitol and was contributed by U.S. Rep. Joe Pitts, R-16th of East Marlborough.
