Residents near Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst may hear “booms” and feel “rumbles” for nearly the next two weeks.

Soldiers from the New Jersey National Guard’s Artillery Battalion will be conducting live fire training with 155mm artillery from tomorrow through Saturday, June 18, according to a military release.

“The joint base and the surrounding community may experience an increase in noise level and moderate ground shaking due to this training,” the release states.

The 42,000-acre installation spans more than 20 miles through portions of Burlington and Ocean counties.
