Mummies will return to Philadelphia for Penn’s museum exhibit

Two nearly 4,000-year-old mummies have been cleared as part of the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology’s “Secrets of the Silk Road” exhibit.

The Daily Pennsylvanian reports the Chinese mummies will be back Feb. 18 after they were taken away last week. China said the perfectly preserved mummies were never authorized for display at Penn, despite being featured in museums in Texas and California.

The mummies will be on display through March 15.
