Morris Arboretum opens Victorian-themed Garden Railway Display

Want to spend a little time outside of the city this Memorial Day weekend? If so, University of Pennsylvania’s Morris Arboretum Garden Railway Display is set to open this afternoon, giving attendees the chance to enjoy some fresh air and great craftsmanship.

This year’s display, Painted Ladies, features the Victorian-style homes created after the California Gold Rush in the late 1840s. The display is set in a summer garden, and all of the buildings are made from natural materials.

The event will take place from 1-3 p.m. If you head to the display you can expect to see volunteers dressed in their Victorian-era finest, create arts and crafts and enjoy free ice cream, according to uwishunu.
