MLK High hoops remains undefeated with win over defending state-champ Imhotep [gallery]

A burgeoning Northwest Philadelphia high-school sports rivarly continued to grow on Tuesday night as the MLK High Cougars boys basketball team defeated the Imhotep Institute Charter High School Panthers 57-54.

The result was viewed as an upset considering that Imhotep is the defending Public League and state champion, but MLK is also coming off a successful season that saw them lose in the public-league semifinals.

MLK is now 4-0 on the season while Imhotep drops to 2-2.
