Mixed result from jury on charges against Castro

A jury has returned with a verdict in the corruption case against former police inspector Daniel Castro.

Castro was found guilty and not guilty on separate accounts. The jury was hung on eight others.

KYW reports Castro was found guilty on one count of making false statements, and not guilty on one count of extortion.

The U.S. Attorney will likely retry Castro on the eight other counts. Castro was charged in November with allegedly hiring a debt collector to use force to get back $90,000.
