Merrily off the cliff with the deadly piper

It would be really nice if the world that the fossil fuel industry tells us about really existed.

We’re bombarded with an endless stream of ads that cheerfully talk about the thousands of jobs the Keystone pipeline will produce, how great fracking is, and how terrific it is that the U.S. will be energy-independent very soon. In this fossil fairy tale, climate change doesn’t exist.

In the real world, of course, humans must decide to do what we can to preserve civilization. Or not. Saving the planet is obviously a back burner project.
