Men arrested for staging photo in constable’s van

File this under “seemed like a good idea at the time.”

After leaving a party in Radnor Saturday, two Marlton, N.J., men stumbled (literally — Radnor police have filed public drunkenness charges) upon the constable’s van. Happy to find the perfect photo opp, the two reportedly climbed in to stage an arrest photo.

But the Associated Press reports once Jeffrey Olson, 22; and Ryan Letchford, 21; climbed in, they couldn’t get out from the locked doors. A friend found them in the van and call 9-1-1.

Radnor Constable Mike Connor told the Daily News he must have left a side door unlocked. The Radnor Police Department arrested the pair for criminal attempt to commit theft from a motor vehicle, public drunkenness and criminal mischief.

When Connor opened the van, authorities found cigarette butts and saliva, as Olson and Letchford apparently passed the time by spitting.
