Markell to deliver State of the State address

Governor Jack Markell starts his second year in office with the State of the State address in Dover.

Governor Jack Markell will address a joint session of the Delaware General Assembly this afternoon in Dover.

Markell’s speech is expected to address a topic that dominated last year’s legislative session, solving the state’s budget trouble.  Markell is also expected to talk about education, job creation, and other initiatives as he enters his second year as governor.

You can watch Markell’s address tonight on WHYY at 7:30 PM.  You can also find audio of the speech later today at WHYY.org/Delaware.  On Friday night, watch a special addition of First, featuring a complete recap of the Markell’s address with reaction from lawmakers.  First airs at 5:30 PM and 10 PM.
