Markell named vice chair of National Governors Association

Jack Markell, who previously served as chair of the Democratic Governors Association, has been named vice chair of the National Governors Association.

That puts the Delaware governor in line to lead the NGA in 2012-2013. WHYY’s Mark Fowser reports on the appointment, which outgoing chair, Christine Gregoire of Washington, praises.

“He understands that education and innovation are pathways to jobs and he brings an approach to problem solving and collaboration that gets all parties moving in the right direction,” she said.
