Maria Donatucci will complete husband’s House term

Maria Donatucci will represent the South Philadelphia/Delaware County 185th District after winning yesterday’s special election. She replaces her husband, former State Rep. Robert Donatucci, who died six days after being elected last November.

The Daily News reports Donatucci defeated Republican Lewis Harris Jr. with 94 percent of the vote, and will consider a full-term run in 2012.

Democratic officials chose Donatucci as the special election candidate after her 13 years in Philadelphia’s Bureau of Administrative Adjudication.
