Mantoloking Bridge closed due to gate malfunction
UPDATE: Authorities reopened the bridge around 6:30 p.m. today.
If you’re heading to the shore and the Mantoloking Bridge is your regular choice to cross the Barnegat Bay, plan an alternate route.
The bridge, connecting Brick and Mantoloking, is closed, according to 511nj.org. The culprit is a stuck gate, ceasing all vehicular and pedestrian traffic, police say, adding that repair crews are en route.
Traffic is heavy in the area of the bridge, according to Google Traffic.
