This Saturday, head to the “Eighth Annual How? Properties GRAY MATTER 5K” in Manayunk to raise awarness about a rare brain disease.

The event was created by Manyunk native, Marybeth Godlewski, after her daughter was diagnosed with hydrocephalus. It will begin at the Manayunk Brewery Company at 9 a.m.

 

Hydracephalus is a buildup of fluid inside the skull that leads to brain swelling. It is most commonly referred to as “water on the brain.”

The top male and female runners will recive a cash prize of $100 at the post-race celebration following the event. Manayunk Brewery Company is located at 4120 Main St.
