Man who found abducted Philly girl hasn’t seen reward

A Good Samaritan who found an abducted girl shivering and barely clothed at a playground outside Philadelphia in January says he still hasn’t seen the promised $10,000 reward.

Nelson Mandela Myers found the girl under a piece of playground equipment at a park in Upper Darby on his way to work.Police say the girl had been abducted from her Philadelphia elementary school the day before by a woman posing as her mother.

Philadelphia officials later said Myers would claim the reward money in the case, but the 27-year-old sanitation worker says he still hasn’t seen the cash.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports a spokesman for Mayor Michael Nutter says the office has approved the reward and is still in the process of sending out the check to Myers.
