Man sent to county jail after vandalizing borough cell

How do you punish a man, who is already in jail, for vandalizing his cell and damaging the municipal building. It seems the only solution is more jail.

The Mercury reports a man in a Pottstown Police Department cell has been transported to Montgomery County jail after making quite a mess of his confines and flooded the Borough Hall.

James Leslie Merinar set off the sprinkler in his cell, where he was spending time for public drunkenness. The felony institutional vandalism charges against him stem from other antics, too, which include other flooding attempts, urination and defecation.

Merinar will need $15,000 cash bail to free himself before his Nov. 3 court date.
