Man questioned for hours in Pa. police ambush files lawsuit
A man who was questioned in a deadly ambush at a Pennsylvania State Police barracks has sued claiming he was traumatized by overzealous troopers who detained him based on mere speculation.
Jeffrey Hudak says in a federal lawsuit filed Thursday that he was taken into custody about 12 hours after Cpl. Bryon Dickson was killed and Trooper Alex Douglass was wounded outside the Blooming Grove barracks in September 2014.
Hudak claims he was suspected because his estranged wife reportedly had a relationship with Douglass.
Hudak says he was questioned for hours, denied an attorney and kept from using the restroom. State police spokesman Trooper Adam Reed says the agency doesn’t comment on litigation.
Alleged gunman Eric Freen was captured after a 48-day manhunt and is jailed awaiting trial.
