Local Red Cross volunteers deployed to Alabama

A Red Cross volunteer from Moorestown, N.J., arrived in Alabama on Saturday and says the effects of the tornadoes cannot be conveyed in pictures.

More than a dozen volunteers from our area will assess damage and provide mental health assistance, as WHYY’s Lizz Fiedler reports. Volunteers from the Southeastern Pennsylvania chapter of the Red Cross have been shipping out over the last week to help tornado-damaged areas of the South.
