Lingelbach students ‘green up’ school grounds in anticipation of Earth Day

With Earth Day approaching, students at Anna Lane Lingelbach School will spend most of the day “greening up” their school.

With help from the Delaware Estuary and Schuylkill Action Network and FedEx volunteers, the students will install a rain garden and plant trees and native plants.
Their work is part of a three-month project in 14 U.S. cities to pair FedEx team members with local nonprofits to do environmental service.

Once the campus has been greened, students will be better able to use it for outdoor education activities. The work is part of a grant sponsored by the FedEx and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.
