Lawn chairs in hand, West Philly parents line up for Penn Alexander registration

Same school, same fence, different season.

Much like for early registration in January, West Philly parents lined up this weekend to register their kids for seats the popular Penn Alexander School.
Only this time, parents sat in line with lawn chairs and sidewalk chalk instead of blankets and hot chocolate.

Registration officially began Monday morning — a full week before the rest of Philadelphia public schools — but West Philly Local spotted parents camped out a full 24 hours in advance.

By late morning, the parents were inside the building, leaving their lawn chairs and snacks behind for the moment.
