Late-night fire damages shop on Wildwood boardwalk
Officials say a fire caused nearly $20,000 in damage to a cookie and funnel cake shop on the Wildwood boardwalk.
The Press of Atlantic City reports the fire broke out at about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters found smoke rising up an interior wall in the store.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and no injuries were reported. Crews were on scene for about an hour and a half.
The Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office says an accidental electrical problem caused the fire.
