Laid off officers from Millville look for work in Vineland

Out of work and unsatisfied with how their department handled the process, three former Millville police officers are now looking for work in Vineland.

Mike Calchi, John Bojaiciuk and Colt Gibson are following the lead of a former coworker in their quest to find jobs and health coverage in the nearby city.

The trio tells the News of Cumberland County they were sent their layoff notices without a negotiation process and at the last minute. Public Safety Commissioner Dave Vanaman called them “sour grapes,” and refused to respond to the allegations.

Regardless of who’s right, Calchi, Bojaiciuk and Gibson are already looking for work in Vineland and plan to take their tax dollars there, since officers in the city must become residents within a year.
