Kraft announces layoffs throughout U.S. and Canada

As Kraft splits its business into separate deli and snack entities, the company will lay off as many as 1,600 people.

Cuts are expected in sales, corporate and other business units, the Associated Press reports, and the number of U.S. management centers will be halved.
The split was announced in August, but the East Hanover, N.J. snacks facility remains safe. It will become the U.S. headquarters for Kraft’s global snacks business. With the split comes the separation of products like Oreos, Cadbury and Tang from Maxwell House and Jell-O.
