Kensington’s 100k houses win architecture award

It’s another honor for the $100k Houses. The energy efficient homes in Kensington were named building of the year by the United States Green Building Council last year.

Now the American Institute of Architects has bestowed another award upon the homes.

The homes’ passive energy strategy and LEED certification put them among 17 other designs nationwide chosen for the 2011 Housing Award.

Interface Studios designed the 800- to 1,400-sq. ft. homes, and hope to build more in the next 18 months.
