Kenney defends Twitter contract, says it costs less than a communications employee

So about that $28,800 Twitter contract Philadelphia Councilman Jim Kenney has.

He’s got an explanation. Kenney tells our partners at Technically Philly the story about his contract with Philadelphia-based Chatterblast has become overblown.
As reported yesterday, Kenney has an annual contract with the social media company to handle his communications accounts, costing taxpayers nearly $29,000 a year.

He says most other council members assign staffers to handle their social media accounts, and those salaries cost more than Kenney’s contract with Chatterblast.

So are you sold on Kenney’s defense, or do you think the contract is unnecessary?
