Judge will rule on Atlantic City Public Safey Director’s role in the police department

A judge will decide by Wednesday if Atlantic City Public Safety Director Christine Petersen overstepped the duties of her job to interfere with police operations and usurp the police department’s chief.

Superior Court Judge Valerie Armstrong must decide if Petersen should be temporarily restrained from activities the police union says are illegal.

The Press of Atlantic City has the full details on the matter, which Petersen’s lawyer says is a personal attack against the public safety director. He cites the mention of a separate case involving Petersen receiving payments she should not have as a move by the union to embarrass Petersen.
