Untreated surfaces will become slippery later today as snow and sleet transitions to freezing rain, forecasters say.

A system will overspread the area later this morning into the afternoon, dropping between one to two inches of snow in northern Shore areas and less to the south, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow then transitions over to sleet and freezing rain during the late afternoon and lasting through the evening.

Around a tenth to one quarter of an inch of ice is possible.
