Horse killed in Delaware hit and run

Delaware State Police say a horse pulling a buggy was killed in a hit-and-run crash northwest of Dover.
The horse-drawn buggy was stopped at the intersection of Sharon Hill and West Denneys roads around 10 p.m. Wednesday, when police say the horse may have become spooked and jumped out into the intersection.
That’s when police say the horse was hit by an eastbound vehicle that didn’t stop.
Police say the 44-year-old man who was operating the buggy wasn’t injured, but the horse died at the scene.
