‘Home improvements’ tops list of complaints filed with N.J. Division of Consumer Affairs
More than 12,000 consumer complaints were filed with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs last year, and home improvements top the list.
To mark the start of National Consumer Protection Week, the division has released its list of top 10 complaints for 2011. At 937, home improvements takes the cake.
Motor vehicles followed as the second-most common complaint, but topped the list in 2010.
The biggest change of note, according to the division, is the spike in debt collection complaints. At eighth place in 2010, those complaints are now in the No. 3 spot.
