Heavy delays persist in the Route 18 northbound lanes and multiple connecting roadways following an earlier fatal crash.
According to Monmouth County Police, Fire, & EMS on Facebook, there are two fatalities and one seriously injured person in the crash involving an overturned truck that occurred near Exit 22 in Colts Neck before 6:30 a.m.
Route 18 northbound lanes remain closed at 8:45 a.m., according to 511nj.org.
Police continue to detour northbound traffic at Exit 19A in Colts Neck as an investigation is ongoing.
Heavy traffic remains on Route 537 and Route 34.
