Guilty verdict issued in Lakewood police officer’s death

In the year since Lakewood Police Officer Christopher Matlosz was shot on duty, his killer has been arrested, charged with a second murder and now convicted.

Jahmell Crockam, 20, has been found guilty of murdering Matlosz last January as Matlosz, 27, sat in his police cruiser.
Crockam was arrested shortly after the shooting and was subsequently charged in a second, unrelated murder.

The Star-Ledger reports jury deliberations lasted only a day.
