Groundbreaking at old Edison High School set for next month

Two local developers plan to break ground at the old Edison High School site next month.

Mosaic Development Partners and Orens Brothers Real Estate Inc. will start work May 4 on an $11 million project at Seventh Street and Lehigh Avenue, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development has already set aside a $1.5 million loan through its Business in Our Site program. The property has been vacant since 2002 and was further damaged by a fire last year.
