Governor Markell to sign Delaware gun bills

Several gun control measures that won approval in the Delaware General Assembly are being signed into law today.

One law to be enacted by Governor Jack Markell would put Delaware in compliance with a national initiative to collect mental health records on individuals for a federal gun purchase background check database.  Other bills being signed today deal with possession of firearms while intoxicated and the disposal and recovery of guns.  The ceremony is being attended by numerous law-enforcement officials and elected officials, as well as members of the faith-based community.
