Golden says quick clean-up deters graffiti

For someone like Jane Golden, graffiti is more than an eyesore. It gets in the way of her job. The Mural Arts Program director says she sees graffiti coming back to parts of Philadelphia.

Golden spoke at last night’s Chestnut Hill Community Association annual dinner meeting about a mural planned for the neighborhood, but said graffiti comes and goes in cycles.

It’s quick clean-up that deters graffiti artists, she said, noting that the MAP cleans up the vandalism to their works within 48 hours.
