Girl, 3, dies after 4-story fall from window; 2nd girl hurt

Authorities say one of two young girls critically injured in a fall out of a fourth-story window in eastern Pennsylvania has died.

The Lehigh County coroner’s office said 3-year-old Tamara Arnette was pronounced dead just before 8:30 p.m. Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Allentown police say she and a 5-year-old girl fell from the apartment building window shortly before 8 p.m. Friday. The older child was last reported in critical condition.

Witnesses told The (Allentown) Morning Call that they saw a window screen fall to the ground and then the children fell. A small, child-sized chair could be seen in the window of the building.
